"He who is ... the first stone."
Labor should apologise to businesses: Vaile.
Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile says Therese Rein’s decision to sell off the Australian arm of her business will probably divert attention from the broader industrial relations debate.
The wife of Labor leader Kevin Rudd is off-loading her company’s domestic operation, which receives federal government contracts, saying she does not want to complicate voters’ decisions at this year’s election.
Mr Vaile told Channel Nine it was up to Ms Rein to decide what she did with the business.
“We all make sacrifices to become a part of the political process and if you aspire to high office in this land, there is a great expectation of total transparency.” he said.
"Three little words, oh what I’d give for that wonderful phrase,
To hear those three little words, that’s all I’d live for the rest of my days.
And what I feel in my heart, they tell sincerely.
No other words can tell it half so transparently.
Three little words, three little letters which simply mean Australian Wheat Board."
Do we expect a Vailed apology to those Iraqis who suffered as a result of Saddam's and the AWB's chicanery? Thought as much.
